Dr Rejaul Islam
Cyd-sylfaenydd a Chyfarwyddwr Gweithredol
I am a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in adults with mental health conditions, Autism, ADHD, and Intellectual Disabilities. I work at Skylight Psychiatry as its Co-Founder and Executive Director, where I lead on the organisation’s strategic direction, expansion of new services, and long-term vision.
…I have extensive experience across both NHS and Independent sectors. I’ve held senior clinical and leadership positions, including Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical Lead, Medical Director and National Clinical Director for Developmental Disorders within the Priory Group. In these roles, I was honoured to support the development of high-quality, person-centred services for autistic people and individuals with intellectual disabilities, and I contributed to the diagnostic pathways for Autism and ADHD. I’ve also worked within NHS mental health and CAMHS services, supporting assessments and treatment for children, young people, and adults with neurodevelopmental and psychiatric conditions.
Previously I completed my higher psychiatric specialist training at the prestigious South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, gaining experience across community and inpatient learning disabilities services, including the National Autism Diagnostic Centre. I also contributed to international research as a lead clinician in the V1aduct Trial – a collaboration between King’s College London and Roche Pharmaceuticals, which explored an oxytocin-based treatment aimed at enhancing social communication in autistic individuals.
At Skylight Psychiatry, I have helped shape the organisation’s ethos and direction, leading its strategic growth, innovation, and service development. My leadership is grounded in integrity, compassion, and a commitment to delivering the highest standards of care. I am particularly passionate about harnessing digital technology and data-driven approaches to improve access, efficiency, and outcomes in neurodevelopmental and mental health care. My entrepreneurial and forward-thinking approach continues to drive Skylight’s evolution as a trusted, person-centred, and technology-enabled service.
Although my current focus is on strategy and vision, I really enjoy engaging in some clinical work out of passion and for the fulfilment of maintaining meaningful contact with our patients.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, spending time with my family, playing chess and football, and training in calisthenics.
My blend of clinical expertise, principled leadership, and innovative mindset underpins Skylight Psychiatry’s mission to deliver progressive, inclusive, and high-quality care for the neurodiverse community.

Jennifer Carter
HR Manager
I have over 15 years of HR experience across healthcare, technology, and marketing consultancy organisations. Throughout my career I have supported employees at every stage of their journey, from recruitment and onboarding through to learning and development, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding.
…Having a close family member who is autistic means neurodiversity has always been part of my life, giving me a personal connection to the work we do at Skylight Psychiatry. It has been wonderful to see the progress in understanding and supporting neurodivergent individuals, and I am proud to contribute to an organisation that is dedicated to providing exceptional care while creating a positive and supportive workplace for its team.
When I’m not working, I enjoy exploring new places, getting lost in a good book, and spending time outdoors. I believe people do their best work when they feel valued and supported, which is something I try to bring to both my professional and personal life.

My healthcare career has spanned over 20 years. From working clinically in my early career, I have spent the last 10 years in commissioning, procurement, and contract management across a wide range of health and social care pathways, including planned care and community services, influencing service improvement within the NHS, Local Authority, and the Charity sector.
…I enjoy working collaboratively with organisations and service users to achieve positive outcomes, utilising my experience in stakeholder relationship and management. My experience in strategy has involved mitigating risks associated with commissioning decisions and procurement options, leading bids, and tenders, and working with providers to contract and performance manage services. My empathetic nature and character find fulfilment and reward in empowering people and improving access to high quality services that deliver the support people need.
Outside of work, I enjoy the simple things in life and spending time with my family – from countryside walks to playing board games. I have a keen interest in wildlife and a passion for music. My hobbies include swimming, bird watching, and attending music festivals.

I have led a range of large-scale programmes, including redesigning pathways, reducing waiting times, and working closely with providers to improve how services are delivered in practice. I enjoy bringing structure to complexity and turning ideas into practical, high-quality solutions that genuinely work for both teams and patients.
What motivates me most is improving people’s experience of services, whether that’s making access easier, supporting teams to work better together, or just making sure things feel a bit more human along the way.
Outside of work I like to stay active with running, yoga, and walking my dog Penguin!

Keziah Oliveira
Administrative Manager
I have been part of Skylight Psychiatry for two years and currently work as the Administrative Manager. I oversee the day-to-day running of the administrative team, including our processes and systems, and support the teams across reception, referrals, reports, bookings and medication titration.
…Before moving into healthcare administration, I trained and worked as a professional dancer for nine years, which was a career I absolutely loved. After finishing my dance career, I moved into the care sector, initially working as a carer before progressing into care administration and later joining Skylight Psychiatry.
What I enjoy most about working at Skylight is that every day is different. It is incredibly rewarding to be part of a service that makes a real difference to patients, and I am always looking for ways we can continue to improve. I believe some of the best ideas come from listening to the people who use and deliver the service, so feedback from both patients and my team is a really important part of how I work.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new places, travelling and spending time with my son.
