Private Adult ADHD Assessments
A detailed, NICE-aligned assessment for adults, on your own timeline, with a full written report.
Looking for a different route? See the NHS Right to Choose ADHD assessment instead.

Who this is for
Our private ADHD assessment is designed for people who:
- Want a thorough, specialist assessment without a long wait
- Are looking for a private alternative to the NHS Right to Choose route, with more flexibility over appointment times
- Have already looked into ADHD and want a formal, clinically led assessment to understand their next steps
- Are self-funding their assessment

Our experienced clinicians carry out thorough, evidence-based ADHD assessments in line with NICE guidance, with oversight from our Consultant Psychiatrists.
We take the time to understand you as a person, not just your symptoms, helping you gain clarity about how ADHD affects your life and what support may help.
Whether you’re seeking answers for the first time or looking for ongoing treatment following diagnosis, we’ll support you every step of the way.
Our services
- Comprehensive Adult ADHD assessments
- ADHD medication titration (where clinically appropriate)
- Annual medication reviews
- Post-diagnostic support
- Online appointments across the UK
- Face-to-face appointments
Following your assessment, you’ll receive a comprehensive diagnostic report with personalised recommendations.
If medication is appropriate, we can support you through titration and, where suitable, work with your GP to establish a Shared Care Agreement. As Shared Care Agreements are decided by individual GP practices, we recommend discussing this with your GP before starting treatment if this is something that’s important to you.
Most patients can expect an assessment within two weeks of their referral, subject to questionnaires being completed promptly.
Flexible payment plans are available.

الأسئلة المتداولة
Do I need a GP referral?
No. Our private Adult ADHD service accepts self-referrals, so you can contact us directly without needing to see your GP first.
How quickly can I be seen?
Most patients can expect an assessment within approximately two weeks of their referral, provided questionnaires are completed promptly.
What happens during the assessment?
Your assessment is completed over two stages.
You’ll first complete a QbCheck assessment, which takes around 30 minutes, followed by a comprehensive 90-minute clinical assessment with one of our experienced clinicians. Together, these help us build a detailed understanding of your experiences and whether they meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD.
Will I receive a report?
Yes. Following your assessment, you’ll receive a comprehensive diagnostic report outlining the outcome of your assessment, together with personalised recommendations and any appropriate next steps.
Can I access ADHD medication through Skylight Psychiatry?
Yes. If medication is clinically appropriate, we can provide medication titration and ongoing reviews as part of your care.
Can my GP take over prescribing my medication?
Where appropriate, we are happy to work with your GP to establish a Shared Care Agreement once your medication is stable.
Please note that Shared Care Agreements are agreed at the discretion of individual GP practices. We recommend discussing this with your GP before starting treatment if this is something that’s important to you.
Do you only assess ADHD?
Our private service currently offers Adult ADHD assessments for people aged 18 and over.
We also provide NHS Right to Choose ADHD and Autism services, and we’re pleased to be expanding our private services. We expect to launch private Adult Autism and combined ADHD and Autism assessments later this year. If you’re interested in either of these services, we’d still encourage you to register your interest and we’ll let you know as soon as appointments become available.
